A grievance is a notice stating that any individual who believes he or she has been denied employment or housing, discharged, or has suffered discrimination in compensation or in the terms, conditions, or privileges of employment or housing on the basis of race, color, religious creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, presence of children, or political beliefs, receipt of public assistance, rental assistance or housing subsidy or any other basis prohibited by law, has the right to file a complaint with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD).
Work Orders: To Report a Work Order
1. If a tenant feels that work is needed in the unit, they must call the office at 978-249-4848 to report the work that is needed. It will be determined at that time if it is the responsibility of The Housing Authority. If so, a work order will be written up and given to maintenance, it is at that time that the tenant must state if it will be alright to enter the unit if the tenant is not home at the time of the visit by maintenance.
2. The Work Order will be completed by maintenance as soon as time and scheduling will allow.
Work Orders are taken very seriously by Athol/Orange staff and are completed as soon as possible.
